Social Media Content Specialist

Position Summary
Under the direction of the VP of Management Services (the “Manager”) the Social Media Content Specialist is charged with assisting in creating, editing, and optimizing content across various platforms to enhance brand presence and engage audiences for Associations our team manages. As a Content Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting our content strategy and execution.

- Collaborate with Association Marketing Manager, Association Management Team and Association Boards to develop engaging and relevant content for blogs, social media, and other digital platforms for the many associations we manage.
- Posting content across Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok and more.
- Engage with audiences on social media platforms by responding to messages and comments.
- Assist with content distribution and promotion.
- Support content planning and strategy.
- Assist in conducting research to identify trending topics and audience interests.
- Support the editing and proofreading process to ensure high-quality content delivery.
- Contribute to content calendars and maintain schedules for content publication.
- Monitor and analyze content performance metrics, providing insights for continuous improvement and insights.
- Import, Tag, and Keep Member Contacts up to date in email databases.
- Tag Members and Companies in Social Media posts once they are active.
- Foster/maintain strong relationships with the associations’ boards, association management team and leadership team.
- Stay ahead of platform trends, algorithm changes, and viral moments.
- Learning and applying SEO best practices and content optimization techniques. Keeping up with industry trends.
- Occasional evening work and travel are required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in business, marketing, communications, English or relevant field of study preferred. One (1) to ten (5) years professional experience preferred. 1+ years of experience in content creation, copywriting, or a similar role
Other Skills and Qualifications
- Strong understanding of digital marketing principles and content strategies.
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and content management systems.
- Experience in using analytics tools to measure content effectiveness.
- Knowledge of social media platforms and their respective content formats.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
- Familiarity with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp or Constant Contact.
- Proficiency in Canva and Hootsuite platforms.
- Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS is a plus.
- Experience with content management systems, such as WordPress.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Proactive attitude and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
